Summary:
Work Experience:
1991 – present : Independent Consultant
Designed high speed digital circuits for use
in large test systems. Designed ultra-low jitter Phase Locked Loops for use in
high precision timing generators in ATE systems with 800MHz to 3200MHz
clocks. Designed high performance mixed
analog and digital systems for various systems. Designed Robotic system for
verification of system performance at the Test head. Designed ECL subsystems to
customer specifications using Cadence Allegro CAD system on SUN
workstations. Awarded U.S. Patent for
the design of the Input/Output system of a large digital Emulation System. Developed prototype pattern generator
at 5.2 GB/s. Participated in the 1991, 1992, 1993 GaAs IC Symposium as an
exhibitor. Extensive use of PCAD design
and layout software for complex multilayer pcbs, flex circuits, and LTCCs.
1984 - 1991 : OUTLOOK Technology,
V.P. and Chief Scientist
Directed R&D and Advanced Product
Development including both hardware and software engineers. Was the original
founder of OUTLOOK and served on the Board of Directors. Responsible for market
and product development and often involved in sales activities with major
customers. Designed and developed high speed digital pattern generators up to 2
GB/s using ECL and GaAs ICs. Designed and developed high speed logic analyzers
up to 500 MB/s including special designs for very wide memory applications (up
to 300 channels wide) and very deep memory applications (2 MBytes deep at 250
MB/s). Combined pattern generators and
logic analyzers to develop a system for Cray Computer Co. for functional
testing of GaAs ICs at 500 MB/s (40 pins). Used PCAD software for schematic
capture and PCB layout of critical controlled impedance boards. Designed ECL
ASICs using Fairchild 2000 and 2500 gate arrays. Specified the design of a Full
Custom GaAs IC for a 3.5 GB/s Pin Driver using TriQuint Semiconductor.
1974 - 1984 Gould Inc. (Biomation Corp.),
Sr. Member of Technical Staff
Responsible for New Product definition and
development. Designed and developed several high speed logic analyzers
including the popular K100 and K101 products. Designed systems using ECL and CMOS
logic, Motorola and Intel microprocessors. Twice received the 'Outstanding
Scientific Achievement' award from Gould (the parent company).
1972 - 1974 Fairchild Semiconductor,
Sr. Design
Developed proposals, designed analog and
digital circuits, and evaluated designs for electronic ignition and electronic
fuel injection systems.
1972 - 1972 Dirks Electronics,
Design
Design Arithmetic processing logic for a
special purpose business computer.
1968- 1972 Singer-Link,
Design
Digital Hardware for Radar Simulators used in
Flight Simulators. Also did Software development for 2 years on a Raytheon
minicomputer. One Patent.
1966 - 1968 Lockheed Missiles and Space Company,
Engineer
Ground test equipment development. Antenna
testing.
